A powerful earthquake rocked Mexico on Tuesday 19 September, killing hundreds of people and toppling buildings. The earthquake also caused major damage in neighbouring states.
This came less than two weeks after a magnitude-8.1 quake hit the country, killing nearly 100.
"As humanitarian workers, as parents and as human beings, we share the pain of those who have lost their children, as well as the hope of those still awaiting news," said Christian Skoog, UNICEF Representative in Mexico. "Our hearts are with you and with all of Mexico."
UNICEF is on the ground helping children and their families affected by the earthquakes.
