We know that a child without clean water is likely to get sick, and that a child who hasn't got anywhere to play is more likely to suffer trauma. During emergencies like the floods in Pakistan in 2010, children and their families lose everything - so UNICEF acted quickly.
Straight away, with the help of supporters like you we launched one of the largest ever humanitarian responses in history to reach every child with clean water, lifesaving medicines and health care, education and protection.
Together, we ensured 5.1 million people got clean drinking water daily; 11.7 million children were vaccinated; over two million children were screened for malnutrition; temporary schools were set up and supplies given out to over 750,000 children, and child-friendly spaces were set up for 400,000 children so they could play and recover.
None of this would be possible without your help. Together we are rebuilding the future of not just one child in Pakistan, but every child affected by the floods. But our work isn't over yet, with your help we will keep working until every child can survive, go to school and be protected in every corner of Pakistan.
Thank you for helping us be there for children before, during and after emergencies.
